Associate Lecturer in Working with Children and Families: Working in Partnership
This role will provide you with the opportunity to join the collaborative and supportive teaching team on the Foundation Degree in Psychology for Education Professionals and the BA Psychology for Education programmes and to teach a group of committed students.
Your main task will be the preparation, teaching, administration, and assessment of the 30 credit Level 4 Working with Children and Families: Working in Partnership module.
This module has two key aims: to explore the theoretical, ideological and professional frameworks that underpin educators’ work with children and families and to develop a critical understanding of how communication theories can be applied to professional and personal communication.
This is an applied module, and we are therefore looking for someone who can illustrate psychological theory with practical examples of working with children and families from their own practice. This could include a professional background in psychology, mental health, education, social work or youth work.
The module is extremely popular and has been running successfully for a number of years. It offers you the opportunity to bring your knowledge, expertise and teaching experience to enable these committed students to complete their studies successfully.
Classes for Working with Children and Families: Working in Partnership meet weekly on Wednesday evenings starting on Wednesday, 5th October 2022 until the end of March 2023.
Further to the person specification attached, we are particularly looking for a committed professional with:
- Experience of education or educational psychology or of working with children/young people and families.
- Willingness to explore and engage in reflective practice.
Please refer to the person specification for further selection criteria.
